Coverage For Sc Disability

Question

OK Im service connected but i do not go to the VA for treatment because i don't trust some of them if i see a civilian doctor for treatment of my sc condition will the VA cover any thing copay's prescription etc Im at 40 % at present or is there a percent that is needed to receive that type of benefit?

No - that is unless they grant care through fee basis.

There is no SC'd percentage evaluation that makes a provision for payment of any private

medical care.

At 50% SC the VA is to take care of any medical (except dental) and medication needs, but without

fee basis it would need to be done at VA facilities.

As Mike stated the new VA bill might change current VA policy regarding approval to use private medical providers but I believe you would have to live more than 40 miles away from the nearest VA medical facility or have been waiting more than 30 days for an appointment at a VA facility. I might be wrong.

I don't blame you for using private medical providers. I have service connected cancer and heart disease and I go to private doctors for both conditions.

well unless i want 800 mg Motrin i already have more of that then i could ever use for the first several years in service that was the only treatment the seem to offer
