Is this an old or new way for VA to confuse a veteran?

In order to improve claim processing timeliness, Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) has begun deployment of Centralized Mail Processing (CMP) for compensation claims and claim related documents.

If you have additional evidence to submit to support your claim, please mail or fax your evidence to the applicable CMP location below. Please be sure to put your name and claim number or social security number on every page of documentation you mail or fax to VA and keep a copy of everything for your records.

When submitting claims:
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
Claims Intake Center
PO Box 5235
Newnan, GA 30271-0020

This may clear up on who depending on where you live to what location to send or fax docs your documents to. I wish I knew about this earlier. I had my DRO conference a couple of weeks ago and he said to send a couple of items he needed right to the RO and then they would send it off to be scanned so he could review them before he reschedules a new C&P on my NOD. He could have had me fax or send them straight there to speed it up but no he doesn't let me know this new way of sending things in.

For those asking about the Evidence Intake Center....the EIC...I had a chance to tour the Newnan Georgia facility 6 weeks ago.

Here is my first installment in a 3 part series about the EIC, their role in the nationalizing of the VA Benefits system, and (in post #3) tips and pointers to effectively communicate with the VA through the EIC.

Get your DBQ to the EIC ASAP to get a VARD that you can NOD.

Wow, Chris, thanks for sharing your observations and insights!

I agree that the picture they painted about 3-5 business days to inprocess a piece of paper isn't accurate. Something I found interesting is that I "double tapped" my Form 9 to the EIC - by certified mail and by fax. My thinking was that the fax would come in as an electronic file from the start and easier to manipulate and get around. Nope. The mailed copy beat it. This was back in November.

My FOIA request for my C-file has been hanging fire since September, 2014. Yeah, that's happening, too.

Just to follow up with my recent experience with an EIC, it's been six weeks since USPS tracking showed that my envelope mailed certified, return receipt requested was received but I've got no green card in the mail and the VA hasn't seen my latest Form-9.

All sorts of conspiracy theories are running through my head...
