Back Pay

Question

My claim was completed this last Friday, August 22, 2014. The AB8 is showing the new rating. I know I will start getting the pay on the 1st of Sept. is that also when the back pay will more than likely drop as well? Thanks for the input.

If your claim completion date was not until the 22nd, do not be surprised if the monthly payment doesn't start until Oct.1st. I heard a claim must be completed by the 15th of the month in order to make the cutoff to be direct deposited on the 1st.

On Ebenefits you can check under the payments section and see if there is any information there.

Hey guys,

I am new here. I am in the same boat as jseale. My completed Friday as well going from 10% to 70%, and was curious as well... for me my GI bill benefits seems to come at different times and dates of the month except for the BAH which always comes on the first. I think I will just hope it comes on the first of October that will if it does come early it will be a nice surprise... also I am thankful for forums like this to help me through this whole process... I have been reading these forums, I have just never posted because this stuff is all new to me... I have only been out for a year and a couple months... and sitting in the VA briefing class all day was a nightmare....

Congratulations jseale and soapdish. Spend your retro pay wisely.

Good luck and good health.
