I dont have a problem if they will let me out when I want..........I asked can I leave when I want and he told me the doctors have three days to get a court order to comit if they think you are a danger to yourself or others. Personally I think I need to go and it sure wont hurt my case for getting my MDD raised from 30% :D

Unless you are suicidal they won't keep you. Make sure about continuation of any pain meds you are now taking. Don't check in on a weekend whatever you do. The first thing they will do is go by what you have written down for your meds by the VA. Even if you tell them you need pain meds they won't give them to you unless their is an order from VA doctor. Do you get pain meds from the VA or anything you have to detox for if you are cut off? If you are on the mental ward they go by exactly what your VA doctor's orders are for meds. Does someone have your POA? As long as you don't say you want to kill yourself or anyone else you should have no problems getting out. I would check in like your doctor says and it will help your claim because they do a GAF when you are admitted. All you say will be put in the record and can help or hurt depending on what you say. The VA based an EED on my hospital stay and the GAF I got when admitted.
