Giving more money to the VA is like handing out coupons to pay $100 for a $5 hamburger - it just ain't gonna help.

It needs to be shut down and vets sent to civilian docs.

The problem I see with that is, how many civilian docs will be willing to participate since the payments will likely be a nightmare for them.

I agree with Notorious Kelly. Shut down the VA healthcare system and let veterans go to civilian medical providers of their choice. All of my civilian medical providers accept medicare. If most civilian medical providers accept medicare, they will accept VA payments. The government could just place veterans under medicare with copay requirements like those under the VA's current system. JMO.
