Earlier this week the VA announced it was going to fire a VAMC director in Georgia and cited this as an example of the disciplinary actions and severe consequences being meted out as a result of the recent VA OIG investigations.

This evening I was watching my local news and learned that John Goldman, Director of the VAMC in Dublin, Georgia was retiring after 42 years of service with the VA. The VA announced his retirement by stating their appreciation of his 42 years of dedicated service to the VA. The retirement story concluded by stating that Director Goldman was about to be fired due to falsification of appointment records at VAMC Dublin but would be allowed to retire this week.

This man and others at VAMC Dublin should have been fired and indicted. Now he is retiring with some great benefits. So much for severe consequences. I am already disgusted with our new VA leadership.

NOTE: This is my assigned VAMC.

    Post a clear title like

    Need help preparing PTSD claim or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery” instead of  ‘I have a question."

    This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?

    Note:
