Be sure to check with your state/local area for other benefits/perks. If your award letter says you are eligible for Chapter 35 for dependents, then that means you are P&T. Berta, I wonder if they are trying to squeeze in everything before the end of the fiscal year... Yes, I applied for SSDI. I was denied twice, in Feb & June, and have my hearing on Oct. 20th. However, I don't know if that applies to first time applicants or if they have a slow motion appeals lane, like the VA. Either way, I hope this gives you more ammo to help them approve you.
