Travel Reimbursement

Rate this question

Question

My husband had two C&Ps on different dates in the past week. The first was for hearing and the audiologist reminded us to fill out the travel form, which we did. Have never done that before and didn't realize we could since he is not service connected yet. But, on the second C&P, we forgot to do it. Is there a way to do this online? The medical center is about 1-1/2 hrs away. If not, I suppose we could get one from our local VA center.

Thanks

Kate

That's funny, I'm one of those guys that doesn't take those receipts. Not any more. Thanks Stretch.

I get my travel pay as well. My boyfriend doesn't get his b/c he doesn't want to go and take the time to get it done. I keep telling him every penny counts! I also use the Kiosk and get the receipt that prints out coupons for food, drinks, store purchases there at the hospital. The other day I got a free drink with my meal :)

To the OP - I forgot one day to get my travel pay and the next time I went to the VA I had them submit it for me. You will get reimbursed for the C&P exam - just fill out the form as one of the members above stated and send it in.

My travel pay is auto deposit to my bank acount

That is correct. You must submit a claim for travel reimbursement within 30 days of the travel. Any veteran rated 30% or higher is entitled to travel reimbursement. Also, all veterans, regardless of rating are entitled to travel reimbursement for C & P exams.
