Not all of my conditions, but a few of them will be reviewed next year. Basically we will be called in from time to time for a review of a Condition. If it has gotten better or gone away in their opinion than the VA can lower a % at any time. Most of the time it is just a way for the VA to control us for a bit. The VA can always at any time make us permanent, which is the ultimate goal. Good luck

Got thru to claims rep after 41 minute wait (love the music), verified they recieved my scanned document, stated he is "peeking into my record" stated "just about completed" just need info on kids to determine compensation amount. Would not release specifics. Very nice gentleman on the end end of phone. So far going smoothly. My claim is located at Salt Lake City. It is a BDD claim filed 7 SEP 14 -fully developed. Retired officially 1 DEC 14. Thanks for feedback everyone.

oldnavypa,

It sounds like your rating will be a minimum of 30% since additional compensation is given to veterans with dependents if their total rating is 30% or higher. Veterans with a total rating below 30% do not receive additional compensation for dependents.

Hopefully, your rating will be much higher than 30%. I would start checking the VA downloadable letters & my documents in Ebenefits for letters showing your rating. Often, the info can be found here before you receive the official BBE from the VA.

Good luck to you.

4.24 Correspondence.

All correspondence relative to the interpretation of the schedule for rating disabilities, requests for advisory opinions, questions regarding lack of clarity or application to individual cases involving unusual difficulties, will be addressed to the Director, Compensation Service. A clear statement will be made of the point or points upon which information is desired, and the complete case file will be simultaneously forwarded to Central Office. Rating agencies will assure themselves that the recent report of physical examination presents an adequate picture of the claimant's condition. Claims in regard to which the schedule evaluations are considered inadequate or excessive, and errors in the schedule will be similarly brought to attention.
