So skipping the appeals process gamble really paid off for you (literally) you are right, the new claims are treated in rapid fashion. A VA appeal is treated like step children.

Congratulations. This has to take a lot of stress off your husband and you as well. I feel so bad for vets who don't have a dedicated spouse standing with them. Especially with mental health issues, it is so difficult for them to keep going.
