41 Years Of Retro Under Cue

I found this by accident while searching the BVA today:

And, like my SMC CUE, it grew out of a Section 1151 issue.

very unusal to find 1151 CUE awards

"ORDER

The veteran's motion to revise a June 1959 Board decision on
the basis of clear and unmistakable error is granted. The
veteran's motion to revise an August 1998 Board decision on
the basis of clear and unmistakable error is denied as moot."

(It was a 1959 decision and BVA correctly denied the other moot CUE claim because they properly awarded this one, with 41 years retro!

The cue of 1959 supercedes the 98 desision as the 98 decision was rendered unnecessary.

I hope he still alive and collecting VA compensation and continues to do so for many years to come. Since he is far beyond the 20 year protected status, the only thing he would have to worry about is the VA prematurely declaring him dead and stopping his benefits. I keep hearing more and more stories of living veterans being declared dead by the VA.

Ok now I am curious. I wonder what the largest CUE award has been. That sure is a HELLO REVEILLE WAKE UP CALL!!! Would that be above 6 figures?
