ptsd Inpatient Mst Programs

As a male survivor of MST it is difficult to find inpatient programs that will work. Going to a regular combat oriented PTSD program doesn't seem like an option. Any reccomendations on good VA inpatient programs? Bay Pines in Florida no longer takes patients from outside there area.

Google vetwow. They should be able to direct you to the treatment you need. They focus on both male and female survivors.

I am now in a SARRTP Program or STARR program for vets with PTSD and substance abuse issues. It is a 3 month inpatient program. After that they are recommending 6 months of transitional living on the VA campus.

I know when I was in therapy at the VA, the therapist had mentioned a couple of MST inpatient programs that are around the US. Depends where you live, there is one for mixed gender in topeka, KS and Baltimore. Those are two that are able to take mixed gender patients. I would talk to your therapist at the VA has they can recommend and guide you in the right direction to get the help that you need. My SSDI was approved first go around and after a week in inpatient things are going amazingly well. If this keeps up I may be. Able to go back to work, but everyone here is warning me that it starts to get tough as you proceed in the program.
