broncovet

I think your getting these meds mixed up with one another.

Neurocet/Neurofen are not the same as Neurotin, Neurotin/Gabapentin are prescriptions meds

''Neurocet''/Neurofen is non -prescription.

Buck52:

I've used GABAPENTIN for many years and it's affects are very limited at best-but can be beneficial if your body can stand it. For me, it helps me to sleep at night due to the intense pain that I live with due to my military related injuries. I've been going to a prominent pain specialist for many years and he precribed this when I said I had trouble sleeping at night due to the pain. Anyway, most have to take large qualtities like 500 to 1000 MG a day to get any pain relief. But keep in mind that it makes most people groggy and at least for me it's associated with some weight gain as a side effect. I think it was first perscribed for people with seizures but was later used for nerve related pain issues. Currently, I only take it at night because if I took it during the day, I probably could not work. That said, everyone's body is different so you may not have the side affects. I do know that it's best to start with low amounts and then work up to whatever works for you. I've heard of some folks using 2000MG daily before they received any kind of perceived relief....but I've taken it now for about 10 years and it has helped in combination with other medicines....good luck and godspeed...
