Class I Heart Disease

I believe that VA does as little as possible for heart patients. I have a stent and it takes an act of congress to see a heart doc.

The nearest VA cardiologist is about 50 miles away, and as far as I know, not  intervention qualified. The Choice program only had PCP's listed in my area. My private cardiologist (for 27 years), has saved me twice. Both were under emergency conditions, and the last one, several years ago, was a blockage that started when I was walking from the hospital parking lot to the cardio lab for a cath and probable stint implantation. I made it through all the prep, and started flaking out just before the cath was put in. Semiconscious during the whole thing, I remember having a cath in each leg, an assist pump of some type being used, a basket to catch the clot, a balloon, and finally a stint. Spent an extra day in the hospital. Two overnights instead of one. Possible alternatives were really immediate open heart surgery or use of a clot busting drug that would have really complicated a heart cath.

Went and had an echo and a nuclear stress test today.  All went well, wont know the results until next week.

On the tread mill, they wanted me to get to a 141 heart rate, because of age, etc.,. Well I got it up to 166 and was in between a trot and a jog for a couple minutes before the cooldown period.

My legs are going to hurt in the morning!!

I will post what I find out,

This was a private doc, not through the VA.

Update and a question , or two...

Echo, Conclusions;

1. Borderline concentric left ventricular hypertrophy with normal left ventricular function

2. Mild tricuspid regurgitation

Nuclear stress, Conclusions; All good to include #6 Normal wall thickness

The only findings that "I" find that could be rateable would be the "30% for hypertrophy by echo"

My  questions is whether "Borderline concentric left ventricular hypertrophy" fits that?

Also, I think since I am rated 0% for controlled high blood pressure, that maybe with this it could get me a 10% rating somehow. IDK.

Anyway, everything else is good with the tests, 12.9 METS, 65% LVEF, etc...
