Thanks for the info, and I have this benefit in Texas already, I live in a 9 yr old 2500sq ft  rock house with 5 acres on the lake, and only pay $700 in mortgage, what a great deal!!

I think every state should be the same and make it for all veterans..don't seem fair to me that some state's have it and others don't  they need to pass a law and make it for every state  because this benefit is Great as for as helping out a veteran and his/her family. our mortgage went from 1275.00 month to 695.00 month. and of course we did the refinance for the 2.99%  fixed interest rate.  Based on 150.000.00  VA loan   This is an older home built in 1986..but well built custom home  using 2x6 &2x8's wall/roof  construction brick home.2200 sq ft

I dont agree with a federal law, that is a states rights issue in deciding what they offer to vets.  If vets dont like it and they leave because of it, the state can weight it.

The Governor of Illinois passed the 70% NO property taxes for disabled veteran a little over a month ago.  I got my letter in the mail.  It's the only state I know of that give 70% disabled veterans that benefit...
