Anybody know if we can get travel pay  when we have a PTSD C&P?

My reason for asking  I may get one here in the next month or two   a veteran at my VAMC mention to me that they are not doing

PTSD C&P at our VAMC..We have to go to a different location.....its  is about 50 miles away  vs 22 miles from my VAMC.

Anybody Know?

............Thanks

I agree completely, Andy.

Also, after I was SC, I tried to get travel pay reimbursements for all of the preceding visits. My VAMC only allows veterans to file for travel for appointments within the last 30 calendar days. Ripped off again...

Young lady told me the same thing, 30 days, fortunately I had 3 priors inside that window and was able to file for those travel days!  Small victory, but a win none-the-less!

For years I was rated 50% SC and I went stood in line for travel pay...they gave me About 8 bucks....but like Vync mention they may have skimmed 6 bucks off the top for deductible or co-pay...never the less after that I went for years not getting travel pay, I just never felt like it was worth standing line for and back in the 90's and early 2000's  Gas prices were up, but now since most of the clinics ask if I want travel pay I say hell yeah..& now gas prices are down & I get more travel pay   so go figure...eh! .LOL

I'll probably not live long enough to see the VA doing things Right.  eh!

Buck,

You never know, accidents and miracles happen all the time.  The VA could change, but not until the top officer changes his point of view, or is replaced.

Correct! We need a head honcho who is truly pro-veteran.

Yes, it's time for the pols to stop their posturing and bloviating and do the right thing.  The thing that was promised to Veterans generations ago!  Someone who will get that Bill that is stalled out, moving and champion it till it's approved across the board, and implemented to it's fullest extent.  The Bill that is supposed to give us COLA, and address the overall general weak compensation amounts.
