EBenefits not showing my claim???

Rate this question

DevilDog12

Question

I have an appeal and a claim in to the VA, and for the past few months, EBenefits has shown both as Gathering of Evidence.  This morning however, my claim is showing, but not the appeal.  I am confused to why this would have disappeared?  They actually opened a new claim for the same illness that I have the appeal in for, and they have both disappeared?  Does anyone know why this would happen, or has this happened to anyone else?

If it makes anyone feel better, I had a dream that I got 70% when it came back up.  Lol.

eBenefits still shows the same for me too.  :-(

Wouldn't that be the best Christmas present in a long time???

I will add my 2 cents.

Most importantly, ebenefits is about as reliable as a drunken drug addicted teenager working at McDonalds.  We can complain about it, but that does little good.  Just know this and dont count on it, and you will be fine.

The one thing that does seem to work in ebenefits is the "letters".  VA does not want you to take a valid VA letter that says you are 100% disabled, and get applicable benefits, only to find out your claim is pending and not decided.  So look in the "letters" section.

"Fretting" over ebenefits causes stress.  Many Vets advocates simply recommend not using it at all.  I use it a limited amount, mostly with "letters".

This said, dont let your claim just "disappear" from ebenefits as "closed".  VA's favorite is delay, then denial, and followed by "closing" or just plain ignoring your claim indefinately.  Lastly, the VA loves to lowball.

Mine is still not showing either

I just checked my eBenefits and it shows my rating now.  I am in shock--it's 80%.

To make it clear, I am not complaing, but isn't the VA supposed to go all the way back to the original filing date?  I filed for all of the claims I was just awarded in March of 2012 and my letter says: "the effective date of the last change to your current award was: December 1, 2014".
