TLaf, when you got your 90% Rating, was there an "Inferred IU Claim" mentioned in the Award?

All Comp claims a Vet makes, are considered requests for the maximum Rating the Vet's disability is authorized for. IU, DX's that are rated T & P No future Exams Required, are all decide on a Facts found (by the Rater) Basis.

The IU rating itself, is never Locked in, even if it's followed by the T & P No Future Exam. The DX that got the IU Award is what has the T & P NF-Exam. Every year until the Vet hits 69, a 21-2140 Earned Income Verification is required to be filed by the Vet within 60 days of his IU Award Anniversary Date. Earned Income above the SGI of $12,400 under 65 or $11,400 over 65 would probably generate an IU Reduction notification.

You ask about Nexus letter for IU or TDIU, as such, there really arn't any. All your DBQ's discus how your different SC's affect your ability to work. The Evidence you supply with your IU Claim either confirms your last 36 mos+ of Earned Income. A VA Voc Rehab Denial Letter, could and would Seal your Deal. Think about it, you can apply for Voc Rehab on your E-Ben site. Could have, not guaranteed, the Denial Letter within a couple weeks.

If you get inferred to IU it depends on your symptoms how bad your disability is that keeps you from seeking employment  if your condition is chronic through out your life time then that should qualify you for P&T.

You may Request the P&T If they don't give it to you   Simply NOD the decision and request the P&T or accept the decision and later on  if you can prove your condition is Chronic or of nature with medical rational and not expecting to improve over your life time...then  request the P&T

The difference in a Nexus letter an P&T?

NEXUS LETTER IS TO HELP YOU GET SERVICE CONNECTED...That's all AND POSSIBLE HELP THE RATER RATE YOU,  BUT THEN AGAIN THEY GO BY SYMPTOMS OR CONDITIONS. P&T means the VA says your condition is Permanent Total And not expected to improve over your life time.

100% rating and a TDIU P&T RATING PAYS THE SAME  BUT WITH THE TDIU P&T you can't work(not suppose to)  ...you can still work with a stand alone 100% rating

I don't know about that  maybe Gastone can answer that?

IU is generally used to help a veteran that is not 100%  and they use it when his disability keeps him/her from working  and their rating is under 100%

100% and IU pay the same...if you don't won't the IU and  have a disability that should rate you at the 100%  you may need to request they drop the IU and use the 100% Rating but you sure better be sure your disability is ratable at the 100% rate.
