How long does it take the VA to pay for Dependants once you have submitted the Paperwork?

I had to resend it again even though I put it down on the original claim.

Jstacy, at Montgomery RO I submitted my request in Aug 05, Resubmitted it in Jan 06, Mar 06 and faxed it to them in Apr 06. I received my letter granting my request on 1 Nov 06 so from time of original submission to granting of benefits was 15 months. Pretty long time frame but that is just SOP for Montgomery.

That is just another delaying trick for when a Vet files the original claim, The Dependants are added ont he form.

This needs to be addressed at a higher level.

jstacy, when I won my claim I had to refile my dependant information. I was told that upon winning your dependants could change, as in either marrige or divorce. On the other hand, not to be a smart ss, the time it takes from start to finish of a claim there could be changes.

Once I filled out the paperwork it took about two weeks to confirm and get paid for my dependant. Take care. Terry Sturgis
