0 ShuMan
Thanks All, I live in the Indianapolis area and I did find 2 local Doctors what will perform IMEs on me. One is Dr.Case. I found him using the IME.net web site. He quoted me at $950 flat fee for all the conditions.Dr.Case was a C&P Examiner at the VA and has been running this IME business for years. I'm just waiting on my C-File and then I can get the ball rolling with him. I found another one about 3 hours away for about $600 but would I'm only going to use them if needed. Couple more questions if you don't mind. 1. I'm being treated for Hip and Neck pain. I believe that these conditions are connected to my service connected lower back issue. Since I don't need an in service nexus, I shouldn't have to have my in service medical records reviewed? In my case my C-File isn't in yet and I wanted to get the ball rolling on these 2 secondary conditions but if I need all records reviewed then I will wait. 2. I spoke with these people at valorcompensationconsulting. They seem to be a new company with a husband and wife combination team. The husband is a veteran and really seems like they want to help vets. The Wife is the one who writes the IMO as she was a C&P examiner. The only problem is she is just a PA with a masters degree and several certifications. The Veteran in me wants to help a Veteran run business but the other side of me is thinking that the VA could crush that IMO if they wanted too. So kind of conflicted. Link to comment
0 Gastone
11th Hour IMOs or IMEs are problematic and usually costly. If you need it that quick, probably not a good idea to go on the cheap. If your going to pay the big $$, I would think you would want to be looking for a Board Certified Specialist, not a GP. An actual Medical Expert's opinion will trump a GP or Non Board Certified Specialist's IMO or IME. Very often, the VA C & P examiner, VA Dr or Contract Dr: is not a Board Certified Specialist. Time permitting, seeing a non VA Dr and getting a referral to a non VA, Board Certified Specialist, would and was my choice. My original Board Cert Neurologist, non VA, Sleep Dr's clinician notes, got my SA SC Award without any additional expenses incurred. Semper Fi rwskitch, ShuMan and flores97 3 Link to comment

Semper Fi Thanks Gastone, I'm fighting that battle right now to get SA SCed. I have talked to a specialist and they have stated they are willing to preform an IME. As soon as my C-file gets here I'll try to scout some more specialist in my area. Link to comment

Agreed. If you can find a local doc who will examine you that can prepare a "VA ready" IME, then by all means do so. If you can not locate a local doc who has the experience/expertise/willingne

Shuman I think we are on the same page, that, if you can find a specialist doc in your town, best is to contact him/her, and see if they will do a IME. (Exam). Its not likely we know docs
