FLHRCI-

I am not a doctor but I read the report to say the following, for sure if you have questions talk to the radiologist or your doctor. I would anyway just to cover any concerns you might have.

What ever they were llooking for they didn't find it was negative, but they found this other stuff.

The wall that seperates the two nasal cavities is abnormal, to the left. It is called a deviated septum.

The report says prominent.

ethmoid sinusitis- I've attached the link for you to see

http://www.emedicine.com/ent/topic341.htm

They see some changes in the signals of the brain at the frontal horns, they think they may be just artifacts, but they want to do a follow-up study in 8 to 12 weeks to makes sure. They will compare the MRI's and see if there is anything to be concerned about.

Other than the stuff they found the study was negative, except for the ethmois sinusitis.

Hope this helps

This mRI was done 3 years ago and no follow up. It has been suggested I may have had a TIA or CVA......I think because of changes in the signals of the brain at the frontal horns. I am asking my VA PCM do order another brain MRi to compare and see if there are changes three years later.

My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no blankets, no food; no one knows where they are-perhaps freezing to death.

I want to have time to look for my children and see how many of them I can find.

Maybe I shall find them among the dead.

Hear me, my chiefs! I am tired; my heart is sick and sad.

From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever."

I had one of those done years ago and then the VA ordered one in 2003 the one in 1995 discovered a 3 1/2 inch scar in the occipital/parietal lobes indicating a stroke, the only time it could have happened was in April 1992 within a year of discharge from Desert Storm but I was told it was just a mental thing, yup it was it was in the brain alright

the 2003 MRI shows that my brain is atrophying at an early rate and explains the memory issues and some of the coordination problems, I hate letting them due new MRI's and other scans I end up with new stuff wrong with me

FL,

Good idea to request a new Brain MRI -- now they will have something for comparison to see any changes.

Seems like it should have been done long ago.

    • These decisions have made a big impact on how VA disability claims are handled, giving veterans more chances to get benefits and clearing up important issues.

      Service Connection

      Frost v. Shulkin (2017)
This case established that for secondary service connection claims, the primary service-connected disability does not need to be service-connected or diagnosed at the time the secondary condition is incurred 1. This allows veterans to potentially receive secondary service connection for conditions that developed before their primary condition was officially service-connected.

      Saunders v. Wilkie (2018)
The Federal Circuit ruled that pain alone, without an accompanying diagnosed condition, can constitute a disability for VA compensation purposes if it results in functional impairment 1. This overturned previous precedent that required an underlying pathology for pain to be considered a disability.

      Effective Dates

      Martinez v. McDonough (2023)
This case dealt with the denial of an earlier effective date for a total disability rating based on individual unemployability (TDIU) 2. It addressed issues around the validity of appeal withdrawals and the consideration of cognitive impairment in such decisions.

    • I met with a VSO today at my VA Hospital who was very knowledgeable and very helpful.  We decided I should submit a few new claims which we did.  He told me that he didn't need copies of my military records that showed my sick call notations related to any of the claims.  He said that the VA now has entire military medical record on file and would find the record(s) in their own file.  It seemed odd to me as my service dates back to  1981 and spans 34 years through my retirement in 2015.  It sure seemed to make more sense for me to give him copies of my military medical record pages that document the injuries as I'd already had them with me.  He didn't want my copies.  Anyone have any information on this.  Much thanks in advance.

    • Caluza Triangle defines what is necessary for service connection
Caluza Triangle – Caluza vs Brown defined what is necessary for service connection. See COVA– CALUZA V. BROWN–TOTAL RECALL

This has to be MEDICALLY Documented in your records:

Current Diagnosis.   (No diagnosis, no Service Connection.)

      In-Service Event or Aggravation.
Nexus (link- cause and effect- connection) or Doctor’s Statement close to: “The Veteran’s (current diagnosis) is at least as likely due to x Event in military service”
