Question

I am a service connected medically discharged USMC vet discharged in 95. In 2008 started having back issues L5s1. Have had 8 surgeries and a nuero stimulator implant. I had several back injuries while on active duty. I have recently had a hearing from the appeal process with SSID, waiting on the ruling. What is my best cause of action with the VA for an increase in disability- service connection? I have been denied in the past. But didn't have anywhere near the medical evidence I have now. Any help or comments would be appreciated!!

If your SSDI claim with Social Security is for back issues then I would wait until the ruling because that SSDI evidence would bolster your claim. Get your records together. Don't send everything to VA. Only send the strongest evidence. The VA is awash in paper. You might want to consider getting a veterans service officer to help you with your claim if you don't feel comfortable filing it yourself. Good luck to you.
