Diagnosis change

Rate this question

SPO

Question

So I have plenty of questions trying to get this straightened out.  My original diagnosis from the VA was Dermititis (the decision letter says   "minimal erythematous slightly scaly patches (claimed as skin condition)"  Since being out of the military it has been officially biopsied and diagnosed as Psoriasis. I filed and claim and I am going in for a new C&P for increase.  Should or will they adjust these conditions on my claim.  They both have the same rating criteria.  However I want to file for a secondary condition of Psoriatic arthritis eventually.  Is this going to be a problem with previous compensation and the increase.  My current medical records don't reflect the same condition as the decision letter.

so I had my c&p exam today and the doc said she was gonna put in to have them change the diagnosis. Also she put me in for and did the c&p exam for painful scarring due to the severity of my skin. Will the rater have to add an additional disability because of that?  Also what carries more weight, the dbq's or the c&p exam?  The dbq was done by a dermatologist and the va doc was not a dermatologist.  The dermatologist rated my immunosuppressive med as constant  use but the va doc said more than 6 weeks but not constant.

When it comes to "Dueling Bango's," a Board Certified Specialist's IMO will trump that of a GP.

Exactly how long, have you been on the Immune Suppression Med? The Dermatologist has treated you for how long?

All MD/DO's are trained in the basics of Dermatology, that doesn't make them Experts.

How about posting redacted copies of both DBQ's?

May or may not be necessary, Send in a 21-4138 identifying your Dermatologist's Specific Medical Certifications and years of practice. Being proactive, can't hurt.

One time years ago I had a VA ENT say things in his C&P Report that was not true medically speaking....I don't understand medicine lingo anyway  so I had a IMO/IME done by a board certified specialist  he address the VA ENT Medical report.

And then gave his report and impression but not once did he bad mouth the VA ENT.

Actually this IMO Specialist explain in more detail  and made the VA ENT look very elementary.

I learn that day that VA Dr's do not want to help us veterans  and if was not for Ms Berta and Phillip Rogers advising me to go get that IMO From a specialist my claim would have been denied.

I have been with that dermatologist for about a year.  I was on the meds from march until september, otezla specifically.  I was taken off to get moved to taking stelara instead (another immunosuppresive drug) since the otezla wasn't working very well and some crappy side effects.  I have not actually started on stelara yet though, waiting to get prescription approval.
