Question

AO USAF Thailand -Ton Son Nhut

This follows the topic below

http://community.hadit.com/topic/68442-cck-uncovers-memo-used-by-va-to-wrongly-deny-ao-claims-of-thailand-veterans/

Many vets who went to  Thailand, actually had Vietnam stop overs.

This case is so significant I linked it to the other post but it bears repeating.

I bet MANY vets had boots on ground stop overs in Ton Son Nhut for refueling etc etc but never remembered it.

And it might never be in their 201 Destination and Arrival records.

Apparently the “archivist” in the Memo in the post here this AM was sure not the same archivist who provided the BS Memo that is in that other post link above.

Same exact agency, two conflicting reports from archivists and the CAVC ,in my opinion, has set this straight, per the link to the BVA case in the above topic here.

Geez, the link to the case didnt work...but here it is:

https://www.va.gov/vetapp16/Files5/1638401.txt

It is the only case like it and was a recent 2016 decision.

Unlike the ROs the BVA replies on VA case law, and also plain old common sense (sometimes)

The case ( awards and remand) mentions 'other" places in Vietnam where planes might have landed from stateside and some men went onto Thailand by air.
