Was the "The Smoking Light is Lit," important to you when you 1st entered the Crotch?   In essence, the Corps contributed directly to your Cig Addiction for the 13 mos of your Nam Tour.

I've never smoked but I'm aware of how difficult, sometimes impossible it is for people to stop smoking. Long time smokers are virtually guaranteed a COPD DX somewhere down the line. You may want to consider Filing a Claim for COPD as a Direct SC based on becoming addicted to Smoking at a young age while in the Corps. Won't be easy, but worth a try.

And while you're waiting, occupy some free time reviewing BVA Decisions starting 14-15-16. Put COPD Secondary to Active Duty as search terms, just to see what comes up. I'll do the same, we'll compare notes down range.

Wouldn't hurt to get a 21-4138 completed by someone that knew you didn't smoke, before Active Duty & Nam.

I went to vfw in person and the VSO didnt say I would get IU for sure but the VSO said the deinial letter write up was very good stating why I can't work. I had her send it while I was there and I review to make sure they received all the pages of the denial letter.                                                                                                     I really didnt smoke until I went into book camp got cigs and later on got them out of sea rats.   Thanks again  Semper FI

Sounds like your right on track.

Be sure your Comp DD Bank Account is set to Txt you regarding all transactions. You should get the Retro Deposit well before the Award Letter.

Hi Master chief. I got a call from the VA that I met the requirments for unemployability but the said I have to go to another C&P for Ptsd and a C&P for a hearing test. Is this the norm are I be concerned. The last C&P for PTSD was 8/2015 and I had hearing C&P for hearing 8/2016.

Thanks again-- Semper FI

ps The vr&E counselor put in her  report profound hearinglimits communicatio easilyand ptsd may cause angry outburst, getting along co -wprkers,high anxiety, dont like crowd, panic attacks and cant help with training or job.
