Compensation Exam

Question

Good morning everyone,

I just had my compensation exam yesterday(yes on Easter Sunday) and while it seemed like a fairly thorough exam in some aspects, in other aspects it seemed a little light. I suppose the goal was to fill out the forms vs paint an accurate individual picture of what's going on. While I'm not completely dissatisfied I did feel like when the range of motion portion came around I was pressured to go beyond pain and well out of my comfort zone, is this normal? I suffer from severe lower back pain and when the exam was over I was getting spasms for quite some time. I told the doc and asked for some advil to help me out a little but he was not able to dispense. Thoughts?

Do you have an established nexus to your service for the back disability?

You may want to get an opinion from a chiropractor in writing.

Thanks Mike, That's in my medical record as well, in fact, He was the first one to really dig deep on my condition! I have a spine specialist diagnosis as well. Lol, all bad. I just feel like the examining doc was trying to get more out of me than is reasonable. The whole exam was painful doing things I don't usually do because of the pain and those types of movements usually through my back into an episode. I've had episodes last weeks!

So back is all ROM. You may have an uphill battle to get a good percentage. Do you happen to have the ROM they took?

I don't trust anyone doing C&P exams. The only time I had one that was in my favor, the VA managed to lose it somehow.
