Question

Need advise on weather writing a senator or congressman is a good or bad idea. Short and to the point history. Starting in 1997 I began having headaches and we are talking about headaches that lasted for months not just a day. Went on sick call numerous times and got the standard treatment of take two and call in the morning. Moving along VA physical stated the same - nothing no rating . Dealt with it. Each and every time that I brought it up say ole same ole. Forward one day I had a seizure. They found a brain tumor. Gee if Ft Hood would of done a MRI they would of found it. Applied and denied for SC appealed and it got remended. I have had two brain   surgies and getting ready to have a third. They can not control the seizures. This time they will be taking out the  entire frontal lobe.  They can not control my seizures with medication. This whole process started in 1998 first complaint. Then filed in 2010. Sent to Ro and they   were supposed to get a C and P . They did not and sent it back. Last week I called what seems to be a 100 numbers you know the old pass the buck. Each time I got a different answer .i got told that they could not find it to write to my Senator. So I am guessing I am asking if I should?

Thanks

"Forward one day I had a seizure. They found a brain tumor."

Who is "they"-VA or a private doctor.Up until the tumor was found, did you get VA health care for the headaches?

".i got told that they could not find it to write to my Senator. So I am guessing I am asking if I should?"

Please clarify "they could not find it"? Who is "they" and what is "it"?

CAVHO - Hi sorry for your situation and prayers for healing. This procedure may actually help your diagnosis.

Frontal lobectomy is the removal of a portion of a frontal lobe. It is the second most common type of epilepsy surgery, after temporal lobectomy. ... After a frontal lobectomy, 30% to 50% of     patients are free of seizures that impair consciousness or cause abnormal movements.

I have had mixed responses with the letters - I sometimes get help, a response and sometime get no response at all. I would go directly to the Congressman's local office in your area - I think face to face works better.

Senator Cornyn of Texas is helping with the blocking of the inmate who assaulted me in the military, keeping constant communication via snail mail.

I know I am blessed.

Good Luck

L

I have found that a congressional is normally worthless.  It is handled by a flunkie in the office usually.  The V.A. pulls your case and stops working on it while they write a nice letter telling your congressman that they are doing all that they can for you.  Then your case goes to the bottom of the pile.

I actually had a congressman's office that was interested in my case and took it on like a bulldog.  They dropped me like a hot rock after the V.A. said I had borderline personality disorder.  So much for HIPA.  No I do not have BPD but it was a good way to get the congressman to drop my case.

I may sound a little bitter but after thirty years of bunk I am a little bitter.

This is a matter of who gets your request or inquiry  , its unfortunate that the VA System is this way , but I agree with vetquest (in his above post) this does happen a lot but not every time...again a matter of who gets it first & what they do with it.

With this New Administration and New VA Secretary  we'll all see how things will be?
