How is audio recording from therapist used in VA Compensation?

When I got my claim approved for PTSD my award letter says under evidence "audio recording of therapy received from vet center". I wasn't aware the therapy I was being recorded. Is the VARO listening to these conversations and determining our benefits with them?

That does sound odd, especially since you were not made aware/agreed to being recorded. Though could it have come from sessions outside of your C&P exam that were made available?

I imagine that it would not do a whole lot for or against you in the case of rating. I imagine that raters would much rather look over a DBQ or notes than listen to an hour plus long session.

You were recorded at your VA Therapy sessions?  did you see the recording devise? or was it hidden? was the therapist a  VA LCSW? Or Qualified Dr?

Did the Therapist inform you about being recorded? was it just one session or most all of them when?
