Help with some VARO and NOD questions

Question

Hello,

First time user so please bear with me

I got a phone call from my VARO yesterday, apparently the Appeals department he said. I entered an NOD in 2016, for PTSD and Migraines. I sent in DBQ's for both, Nexus letters for both etc... After they received the NOD they requested more information from my Psychologist, which she in turn sent them 38 more pages of treatment. Since then I have heard nothing until yesterday. The man from the VARO said he just had a question about one of my stressors and asked a few questions. He said he had all my other paperwork and DBQ's and Nexus.  He then stated he was the one who gathered the information so I am assuming he was a VSR. At the end of our conversation he said my claim was flagged and needed to be completed quick. I asked how long till it was done, as the cost of my Meds alone is killing me as I have six children to care for etc..... and he said he would give it to the VARO as soon as he was done reviewing it which would be the end of the day, and said by next week!!!!

My questions, is it normal for a VARO to call with questions, and if so how long after will the claim be completed, he said next week but is that even possible I have been waiting awhile, and according to my VSO, VA doctors and my own Psychologist there is no way it shouldn't be approved, which of course now has be thinking it will be ugh.. anyway, any thoughts would help, and thank you all for your service.

How about posting a redacted copy of the PTSD Denial and the Forensic PTSD C & P DBQ?

Strictly my opinion, opting for a DRO Review instead of a DRO Hearing was a mistake.

With the DRO Review, you won't know when the actual Review is done by the DRO. A VA DRO Award or Denial Letter with a SOC, will be your First written notification of a Decision.

Be sure your VA Comp Direct Deposit Bank/CU account is set up to real-time Txt & Email you regarding "ALL" financial transactions. Retro usually hit your Bank a couple mos before the Award Letter arrives.

We dont know how long it will take.  The VA takes exactly as long as they please, no more and no less.  I find it incredible that, the VA is supposed to serve Veterans, but nobody can answer why VA has "0" deadlines, and we have multiple deadlines.  (1 year to file a nod, 60 days to file an I9, etc., etc).  How come there is no deadline for VA to complete a claim?

Based on your post, I can see how you would be optimistic of a quick resolution.  In the meantime, get yourself a hobby.

I seem to recall another poster who called himself "root beer".   Did you forget your login information and sign up again as "Rootbeer112"?

No I am new to the site.

as far as the DRO review, I was told you don't get a hearing till after the DRO review if they even want one. The guy who I assume is the VSR seemed to think it would be done quick and on ebenifits it went from GOE right to Review of evidence the same day I talked to him. I know that's not a lot of movement but its some.

Also, they lost half of my SMR's? I have DBQ's for PTSD and Migraines, as well as Nexus from doctors for both etc... will this help even though they cant locate my records or half of them? or am I up the creek?
