Question

I received my official C&P results today.  I know most of the criteria such as the occupational and social impairment, as well as several of the symptoms fall into the 70% range.  But I do have panic attacks frequently, that do affect my work.  The doctor even put in there that my employment is in jeopardy because of my panic attacks.  Would this sway it to the 100% range?  Or do the symptoms and occupational impairment HAVE to fall into that range.

I have a paper copy, so I can't just copy and paste it onto here, but I will put everything on here.  Please tell me what you think:

Does the veteran now have or has he/she been diagnosed with PTSD? YES
Mental Disorders Diagnosis #1: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Chronic
Does the veteran have more than one mental disorder diagnosed?  No

(X) Occupational and social impairment with deficiencies in most areas, such as work, school, family relations, judgement, thinking and/or mood.

Evidence reviewed
(X) VA claims file (hard copy paper C-file)

I can see the request for IU if he loses his job over his behavior and B/C of his S.C. PTSD at 70%   But you need to wait for a decision  you might get the PTSD 100% But just looking at this last C&P I doubt you will get the 100  maybe 70%.

but like broncovet mention if your working and then lose your job I believe you have to not work for a year  or try VA Voc-Rehab first  b/c usually there is other jobs that you could do  this is what Voc Rehab is for..now if they can't find you anything making the required income and  find your not feasible to retrain b/c of your S.C. Disabiliy's  then that's when you need to file for the IU

Buck52 is of the same opinion as I : the above statement is counter to the symptomatology of a 100% PTSD rating. - meaning simply - you are NOT  in the criteria of 100% .

This is a well written sentence since it hit all the symptomologies: Professional  C & P examiner.... just saying....

1 appearance 2. dress 3. thought process 4. cognition - thinking 5. awareness of time /orientation 6. Insight 7. time management

my best guess - I hope I am incorrect Good Luck.

Just as an addendum: If you go to the next appointment disheveled and unclean -

it COULD  be noted from a clinical standpoint, it is out of character & could be viewed as negative. ( ie: malingering) - not judging just stating a fact....

After working in healthcare for 21 years -  the observations of the clinicians that are noted in the chart, are taken as valid statements. good or bad it is what it is......

Absolutely Yes I didn't lose my job they just put me on unpaid leave which I don't know what's worse since I was still forced to pay my own benefits out of pocket until I couldn't afford it and resigned. I filed for IU and 60 days later was granted due to financial hardship. Wife was  pregnant and bills piled up paying out of pocket for Obamacare costing me over 800 dollars a month. The threat of losing your job if in writing maybe all the doctor will need to right his opinion that was my case I gave him the letter when they put me on unpaid medical hold. I still was employed used all sick and fmla I had on the books which wasn't much since I had this job for 7 months my longest job since my discharge in 2010. I showed my work history of all the incidents that involved my impulsive bad choices and lack of memory. Not sure how long you held that job or how many written mistakes you've had there to show a pattern

@L You are really the first person to point that out.  I have posted this on another forum as well.  I can agree that he basically put everything there is to put against a 100% rating.  Good eye!  I am thinking it will be 70% though.  Maybe 100% if I would of filed IU.

I am rated at 70% and believe the cards are stacked against any veteran getting 100% unless they are totally out of control.  You can file for IU after you lose your job, I did for my disabilities and got it but not for ten years.

On a different forum, several people told me they expected to get 30% or 50% when they recently received their results, and ended up with 100% P&T.  I don't think I rate it, and not sure how I would receive it considering I feel like I can work some kind of job, just not the one I'm at now.

I'm assuming that if someone is given 100%, that if they continued to work, it would probably be taken away quickly.
