Wrist/Carpal Tunnel

Looking for advice on what type of Specialist I should see at the VA for wrist issues.

Currently service connected for my knees and ankle. I reported wrist pain(cracking and popping), numbness, and tingling on my active duty exit physical but did not pursue treatment for it at the VA until now (5 years post separation). Primary care physician gave me a consult to physical therapy and ordered no xrays. Physical therapy had me perform a series of exercises which revealed I had half the grip strength of an average man in his 30s. Physical Therapist observed that I was unable to hold a pen nor write After those grip exercises. They suggested that I obtain a nerve conduction study.

Primary care ordered the NCS at my request (no EMG was performed). Test came back normal, no carpal tunnel issues observed.

What proactive steps should I take to get a diagnosis for my wrist/nerve/unknown problem?

Thank you all.
