update from the BVA, here is my time line

claim filed in 11/10,  appealed cert. at BVA  12/13, in Washington hearing 08/17/16

Appeal closed yesterday  10/13/17, hope the date is not an indication of thing to come.

should get my letter next week.

People thought I was "exaggerating" when I said it took 5 years to do a BVA appeal.  According to your post, I guess I was..in reverse.  I usually use the time "from the NOD" not from the claim.  

Did you see that it takes the VARO 3 years to "certify" the appeal??  

I say we need to make a "SWITCH" here:   The people who work on VA employee checks trade places with those who work on VA claims.  They get them a check in an amazing 2 weeks after they start work.  

It sounds like you probably will be closer to 7 years before you get paid.  

Lets pay VA execs in about 7 years, and lets pay Vets in 2 weeks.  I bet the backlog would go away then.
