Valor 4 Vet?

Rate this question

Question

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone here had any recent experience with Valor 4 Vet? I read many good things about them for assisting in the claims process, however my experience has been a bit dragging.

I paid for services and submitted all paperwork required but have not seen any movement in 5 weeks, despite touching base with them over the phone a handful of times though the 5 weeks. They said I would be contacted and updated but I just never heard back...

I'm hoping things do turn well though and I still have faith in their team despite the dragging wait.

So, if anyone has had any recent experiences with them please let me know how it went.

A little bit more information would be needed to provide a meaningful opinion. Is your concern with an initial claim, appeal, BVA, dependency, or something else?

If you have an ebenefits account, you might want to check there or possibly call the 1-800-827-1000 number. Just keep in mind the 1-800 number can be helpful, but results may vary between each phone call.

What did you pay them for?

Reason I ask is that their Home page identifies their founder, who is a PA.

She might be a superb PA but the VA can always find a Board Certified Doctor  to go against her opinion.

I say that because of my personal experience- BVA years ago remanded my claim for a cardiologist's opinion.

I had 3 IMOs at that point and the BVA wanted 3 againstbut I knew a cardio doc would agree with my evidence.

I got a PA opinion instead and I completely demolished the PA's opinion which of course went against the claim.I had more cardio knowledge than he had. I told BVA his opinion was to speculative in the face of the overwhelming medical evidence they had. BVA agreed and awarded.

The PA I got might be a swell PA but he had no experience that a cardio doctor would have. I eve ordered and paid for a forensic cardio opinion, IMO # 4, but I got the award from BVA before that doc could even prepare the IMO.

As Vync and Berta said, we need more information from you, so that we can be a signpost, and direct you where to go. We are here to help but do need more concise details.

Check in the IMO Independent Medical Opinion section there haven't been much threads posted by other members about them lately.

Lastly local may be better, search for doctors in the area and give their office a call, perhaps you will find a hidden gem, since we are trying to expand the list of MDs in that section.

Lot of good information here from other Hadit Members.

I don't know that much about Valor Compensation Consulting 2015, they change the Name to Valor for vets in 2016. their a new veterans advocate.

not putting them down or  degrading them but

you ask them for help and gave them some information and you never heard back from them in over 5 weeks,??

..that is not  a good way to communicate with Veterans,  a phone call ,email or text should have been followed up to you  rather or not they need new information from you....  they (someone) still should have contacted you and let you know they are working on your claim and  for you to be patient..when you don't hear back from some one you gave your  claims information to within 5 weeks......> is not good.

And just  being a PCP or PA is not enough to render an medical opinion ,depending on the condition/disability in question?

As Ms berta mention they are a lot of claims that need a specialist  to render an medical opinion  such as PTSD and the Diagnose for PTSD has to come from VA  A QUALIFIED Medical Doctor Or MH Specialist  like a Forensic  Phyistrist  using  the DSM 5 Criteria to be met UNDER VA Guidelines.

Same is true with a OSA (Sleep Apnea) Claims  or even a Loss of Hearing claims  these Dr's need to be  certified & licenses and in some cases a specialist in the field of medicine that your claiming.

If I was you I would find someone else to help me with my claims  maybe a good experienced  Attorney, VSO or Veterans  Certified claim Rep Agent.

or just stick right here with Hadit Members...you will be given correct information here and lead in the right direction and its up to you to use it.

One thing I can suggest to you if you have not did so just yet?  if you file a claim  request your C-File First thing and or military records medical and service records  DD 214, if the Valor for Vets are helping you  you migh want to give them a call and ask them what all have they did  like request your C-File and Military Records.

your going to need them filing a compensation claim.

I am not an Attorney or VSO, any advice I provide is not to be construed as legal advice, therefore not to be held out for liable BUCK!!!

Lots of good advice in the replies, thank you all!

I've recently got all my medical and service records from the Army. What Valor 4 Vet does is analyze my medical record and then ensure the conditions to be claimed are all in proper order when submitting (I think).

This VA claim is very important to me so I want to do all the above which is research and ask on here  + VSO + Valor 4 Vet...assuming they reply.

    • These decisions have made a big impact on how VA disability claims are handled, giving veterans more chances to get benefits and clearing up important issues.

      Service Connection

      Frost v. Shulkin (2017)
This case established that for secondary service connection claims, the primary service-connected disability does not need to be service-connected or diagnosed at the time the secondary condition is incurred 1. This allows veterans to potentially receive secondary service connection for conditions that developed before their primary condition was officially service-connected.

      Saunders v. Wilkie (2018)
The Federal Circuit ruled that pain alone, without an accompanying diagnosed condition, can constitute a disability for VA compensation purposes if it results in functional impairment 1. This overturned previous precedent that required an underlying pathology for pain to be considered a disability.

      Effective Dates

      Martinez v. McDonough (2023)
This case dealt with the denial of an earlier effective date for a total disability rating based on individual unemployability (TDIU) 2. It addressed issues around the validity of appeal withdrawals and the consideration of cognitive impairment in such decisions.

    • I met with a VSO today at my VA Hospital who was very knowledgeable and very helpful.  We decided I should submit a few new claims which we did.  He told me that he didn't need copies of my military records that showed my sick call notations related to any of the claims.  He said that the VA now has entire military medical record on file and would find the record(s) in their own file.  It seemed odd to me as my service dates back to  1981 and spans 34 years through my retirement in 2015.  It sure seemed to make more sense for me to give him copies of my military medical record pages that document the injuries as I'd already had them with me.  He didn't want my copies.  Anyone have any information on this.  Much thanks in advance.

    • Caluza Triangle defines what is necessary for service connection
Caluza Triangle – Caluza vs Brown defined what is necessary for service connection. See COVA– CALUZA V. BROWN–TOTAL RECALL

This has to be MEDICALLY Documented in your records:

Current Diagnosis.   (No diagnosis, no Service Connection.)

      In-Service Event or Aggravation.
Nexus (link- cause and effect- connection) or Doctor’s Statement close to: “The Veteran’s (current diagnosis) is at least as likely due to x Event in military service”

    • Do the sct codes help or hurt my disability rating
    • VA has gotten away with (mis) interpreting their  ambigious, , vague regulations, then enforcing them willy nilly never in Veterans favor.

They justify all this to congress by calling themselves a "pro claimant Veteran friendly organization" who grants the benefit of the doubt to Veterans.

      This is not true,

      Proof:

About 80-90 percent of Veterans are initially denied by VA, pushing us into a massive backlog of appeals, or worse, sending impoverished Veterans "to the homeless streets" because  when they cant work, they can not keep their home.  I was one of those Veterans who they denied for a bogus reason:  "Its been too long since military service".  This is bogus because its not one of the criteria for service connection, but simply made up by VA.  And, I was a homeless Vet, albeit a short time,  mostly due to the kindness of strangers and friends.

Hadit would not be necessary if, indeed, VA gave Veterans the benefit of the doubt, and processed our claims efficiently and paid us promptly.  The VA is broken.

A huge percentage (nearly 100 percent) of Veterans who do get 100 percent, do so only after lengthy appeals.  I have answered questions for thousands of Veterans, and can only name ONE person who got their benefits correct on the first Regional Office decision.  All of the rest of us pretty much had lengthy frustrating appeals, mostly having to appeal multiple multiple times like I did.

I wish I know how VA gets away with lying to congress about how "VA is a claimant friendly system, where the Veteran is given the benefit of the doubt".   Then how come so many Veterans are homeless, and how come 22 Veterans take their life each day?  Va likes to blame the Veterans, not their system.
