Voc Rehab Denial opinion from Counselor

Question

Hello everyone, I’ve been reading about VR and the effects it has on TDIU. Recently I applied for VR and after the class and paperwork I talked with the VRC about my SC disabilities and how they affect my ability to work. She told me that it appeared that I wouldn’t benefit from VR and that I couldn’t even attempt to start my own business with my drone and Ariel photography. I left feeling down on myself because what the heck was I going to do then! She said to contact her in a few days to talk about IL opinion. When I contacted her she said she would have to wait to get my PCP to agree with her decision! Is this normal? Is it up to my PCP to agree with her in order to receive the confirmation on not being able to find gainful employment?

If this is the case I may be in trouble because my PCP is out of the country until the middle of July! Should I continue to bug the VR lady so she won’t forget about me?

Buck, thanks for the great information again but I’m s little confused with 2 of the things you said. 1). Do you mean go into e-benefits and print all of the pertinent information about my physical disabilities and give it to my VRC?

2). What is the average wait time to receive a copy of your c-file?

3). In the meantime should I continue to bug the VRC about the paperwork that says I can’t do anything or about the IL plan just so she won’t forget about me?

Yes  print off any pertaint records that would be favorable to your claim.

All medical documentation and any information about you in dealing with the VA  and this means VR/E ,They will be documentation of this,  its always recorded and place in your records. if you can't seem to find it in your ''Myhealthevet Notes''  then it will be or should be in your Records Files @ your local VAMC the one you use for medical care at (Release of Records) desk  at your VAMC.

Request C-file Time just depends how fast the clerks work to get it to you,  usually its about a 3 month to a year wait  but as I understand it now with this new VMBS   the C-file has been condensed down to a CD. It don't take as much time as it use to.

This new format of your C-FILE makes it soooo much easier to find things in it.

S-22, when your VRC advised you as to the need to contact your PCP, did you question why?

Did you follow up the VRC discussion with a MHV Secure Message to your PCP regarding the VRC Contact?

I can think of nothing your PCP could offer regarding a VRC Denial Letter completion. E-mail, no phone calls (Think Paper-Trail) your VRC and let her know your PCP out of the Country, then address your question as to what she was trying to verify or Confirm by contacting your VMC PCP.

A VMC PCP doesn't know anything more about any of your Specific SC Disabilities, than your treating VMC Specialist. As long as it's just your SC conditions that are currently precluding you from a successful completion of the VA VR Program, a New VRC should be able to review both your VR And VMC Clinician Notes and conclude the Denial Letter is appropriate.
