BCNR Email Response- Sound promising?

Rate this question

Carterglobal

Question

Hello to all,

First I want to thank everyone for all their advice, input and expressing your experiences. Very helpful to us all.

I contacted the BCNR last week via email to confirm the status of my case (attempting to change personality disorder to secretarial authority). Their reply yesterday via email was:

"Mr. Carter, Good morning. I boarded your case on 4 August 2018 and have submitted the necessary paperwork to my supervisor for review. Once he is finished, it will be given to the Executive Director for final signature. Once signed, it will be mailed to you and to NPC for inclusion into your OMPF. This process can take some time due to the sheer volume of cases we deal with. Thank you for your continued patience. Have a great day. "

Before I get excited, does this sound promising?

Global

Yes, BUT, dont forget to follow up on all the deadlines for your appeal.  This change will only matter if your appeal is pending.  Otherwise, you will get hornswaggled by VA on your effective date retro$.   If you have not applied, do so now.  Dont wait for this to happen!

Are you a Vietnam Veteran ?

If so,

Have you been able to prove that you had a mental disorder , such as PTSD, in the Navy, that would have been service connectable?

https://dod.defense.gov/Portals/1/Documents/pubs/Clarifying-Guidance-to-Military-Discharge-Review-Boards.pdf

The above pdf is dated 2017 and grew out of the Hagel Memo.

I did 2 Radio shows here on the Hagel Memo and there is discussion available under a search.

https://community.hadit.com/search/?q=Hagel Memo  (lots there)

Ifg the HAgel memo and the new policy for Discharge Review Boards does not apply to you-I hope you have very solid evidence to succeed in your

BCNR issues.

I'm still learning the process, does retro date start the date of submission of packet to BCRN?
