PTSD and gambling?

Rate this question

Question

So I found out today that my Uncles neighbor is 100% for only ptsd. He tried talking to me while I was visiting my uncle. He then invites me to go to the casino with him to play cards; which, I declined. I'm not judging but it is peaking my curiosity. How do 100% ptsd veterans manage to go gambling in a crowded casino that requires interaction, but can't work? I'm not judging or plan on reporting. Not my job or business to try to report people. I just want to understand it.

Like JonathanWilson has stated, get the help first for the gambling addiction.

All that clothing allowance, vehicle grant can lead you to other problems such as one less bill that you have to pay so now it gives you more money to gamble with.

All I can add it that PTSD affects everyone differently, and it's not uncommon for someone with PTSD to have certain triggers that affect them in one way but not in another. While some people with PTSD may have difficulty working due to their symptoms, others may be able to manage their symptoms and still enjoy certain activities, like gambling. It's important to remember that everyone's journey with PTSD is unique, and we shouldn't judge others for how they choose to cope. If you're interested in learning more about PTSD and how it affects people, I would recommend checking out http://asyu2017.org/. They have some great resources and information that may help you better understand the condition.

PTSD is different for everyone.  Luckly I take mine out on gaming.  For me it is about finding what will work to keep it in check and not go so far that my addiction takes over everything.

There was a time for me when my gaming got so bad that nothing else mattered and i stopped working and interacting with anyone else.  I am glad I found people in my life to help me as I can now manage it.

From what I know, gambling can be a way for some people to escape their problems, but it can also be a trigger for others. In terms of the casino itself, there are a lot of different factors that can affect someone's experience. Some might prefer online casinos or bookmaker's offices, where they can gamble in a more controlled environment without dealing with the noise and crowds of a physical casino. Others might enjoy the rush of playing slot machines or card games in a real-life setting. I chose w88 for myself because I like many games where I can have fun and relax. Everyone is different and has their own ways of coping with PTSD.
