Hello

I need some help if possible.I received a widows pension monthly until August this year when it was stopped .I have rang twicwpe a month for the last 3 months to get to the bottom of this and get it reinstated.

August rang was told some one had reported I had died.Was told my claim would be put to priority as I was still alive.

September rang was told could not find my case from my case file number I was given in August so had to go through all information again.

September 3 weeks later rang again to find out progress.Was told after an hour on phone that my money had been released and was in my bank account.No it was not!

Rang back next day was told it has not been released.Asked why I had been told it had,sorry can't tell you why!

October rang back again after the 3 rd..explained again some one reported I was dead,want to know status.Was this time oh no ma'am no record of you being reported dead.Well why has my pension been stopped I asked.Was told most probably a clerical error of some sort.Was informed my account has now been passed to pensions team.

Now to complicate more things my rent has not been paid on my home now for 3 months and I have now been served an eviction order.I am 72 years old live in Europe with health problems.I survive on this pension.

I am soon to be homeless in a foreign country on my own with not even a dollar to get a flight home,let alone eat.

I hope someone can give me some advice as to what I can do,I seem to be given no true answers as to what is happening,but being told lie after lie

This is outrageous!!!

You have not received the help you need from the VA.All because of Their error!

I hate to make another suggestion but that is all any of us can do-

You can email them your complaint.

Tell them exactly what response you got from these contacts I gave you:

I used the other email years ago-so sorry-I guess it changed.

As well as the White House veterans hot line response.

Tell them you are sending a complaint to Secretary Wilkie as well.

Can you tell me the name of the City/town you live in and what country?

They might have someone at the State Department there to help.

This is an outrage!

Did you get the name of the person at the WH Hot line- the legal specialist you spoke to.

If so can you tell me your name and where you actually live?

I am willing to call the WH Hot line myself to see what can be done. But tomorrow I have to vote and then leave for a prayer meeting 30 miles away, If I hear from you by tomorrow , early, I might be able to call the WH Hot line early-

I am surprised that I have not heard back at all from the Office of Survivors.And you didn't either.

I did call their acting VSCM ,(Phoenix) for a contact # or email addy for "Jim" and await a call back.

I tried their director's # but it is out of service----also I called the WH Hot line and they transfered me to the VHA but the man there only had the same contact # I have so maybe one of their VSCMs will call me back-

Unfortunately I have to leave for 2 obligations I have today-

I hope you will call them right away and you might have to get tough- even if the guy from Phoenix calls me back it wont help because this is new info- apparently Jim put you in touch with the right place-I had posted this # here before-if they dont seem to be helpful -

you could let them know you are going to file a complaint with the Accountability Office due to the careless way this situation has been handled so far.

Someone needs to let you know what the letter is all about. And send you what the VA owes you -due to Their error.

You can contact the VA Office of Survivors -https://www/va/gov/survivors/

Or go to the VA main web, www.va.gov and click on the Contact Us section and they will direct you how to file an IRIS inquiry- I suggest using the pop down down box  and file this as a complaint, 

or maybe better yet :

 

Call the White House Hot line:

1-855-948-2311.

Tell the what you told us here and mention this:

"Was informed my account has now been passed to pensions team."

I found a different email address for the VA Office of Survivors:

The last email address does not exist,I had mail sent back to me by gmail.

I am going to ring the hotline tomorrow,someone has kindly offered me the use of their phone.

 

My eviction order has now been served and I have to vacate by 7 the November.If this situation cannot be resolved,I am in a serious life threatening position through no fault of my own.

I will only have 2 solutions left to me.
