Ellis Clinic IMO/IME

Rate this question

Question

I know there has been some people asking about the Ellis Clinic and how some of the outcomes were. I am going soon to the clinic and once I get my report/exam back from him, I will file a claim. I will keep everyone posted throughout the process so people can know what the outcome was.

Had C&P today for the rest of my claims by VA nurse practitioner.  Basically filled out DBQ's like I thought.  I refereed her to Ellis diagnoses a couple times. She did say they were pretty extensive from Dr. Ellis.  I'm feeling positive since an MD opinion should outweigh a NP.  But I think the C&P went pretty good.   We shall see.

CP exam completed for headaches. Went extremely well. Will standby to standby.

Ya.  I'm guessing they need to do DBQ's since Ellis doesn't do them.  Just want to get them done and over with.  Heck I had a Psyc. Dr. do a nexus with a DBQ, and still had to do two C&P exams.  Just more proof I guess.

Update here. my claim is still deferred.Approved ED only so far.

Had a CP for Migraines which was favorable and my suspense date for the claim has passed. Not sure what in the hell is going on.

As I am to understand the VA is not supposed to send you to a C&P to get negative evidence if there is already positive (IMO) evidence in your favor.

You are absolutely correct.  The VA is not allowed to send you for a C&P with the purpose of obtaining negative evidence or to rebutt positive evidence that is in your favor.   With that said if a C&P exam was never completed they could ask for one to be done for the purpose of getting a DBQ completed.

I just returned from the Ellis Clinic.

I was examined for five medical conditions by Dr. Ellis.

The IME opinions turn around time was about 1 week, from the time of my appointment until the time I received the opinions.

Two of the opinions I received needed tweaking, so I gave the Ellis Clinic a call.

I was told to fax them a detailed letter and Dr. Ellis will review the matter.

I will be submitting relative service treatment records in support of my letter, as the clinic destroys all of the records once Dr. Ellis completes his IME.

I am in the process of preparing my letter and submitting it to them.

I sincerely hope that Dr. Ellis is conducive to making some changes to the opinions that are needed to strengthen my evidence.

Will update results when my inquiry is complete.

Anyone who has had this type of experience is welcome to share their experience and state whether it ended satisfactorily.

I hope they don't destroy all your medical records he has at his office? on you?

you can make copies. but I had a IMO/IME EXAM from a Audiologist Specialist from a Private  ENT Clinic   and the R.O. DRO who was doing my Hearing called in a Rating specialist because there were some concerns about my hearing test #;s

The Rating Specialist called this Dr to confirm the hearing test numbers as what I had a copy of their Hearing Test..As my evidence to dispute the VA Audiologist.

I was glad this private Dr still had these records.

so its a good thing the Dr never destroyer these records...they were the same as I had  and everything went ok after that.
