House insurance GI loan HELP

Rate this question

Question

Hi Everyone,

I have a fellow VET that needs assistance with an issue she is having with her insurance agent and contractor.  She had water / mold damaged and they removed both bathrooms and kitchen.  They said she does not have enough money to finish.  She has a insurance policy and she does not feel they are honoring it correctly.  Is there a Vet advocacy program that she can contact for assistance with her home that she bought with a GI loan?

Thanks,

Victor

My advice is your freind should try "without a lawsuit" first.  If that fails, yes hire an attorney.  I am not sure of the money involved, but if its just a few hundred or even a thousand dollars, most attorneys are not interested.

However, if its a huge problem, costing tens of thousands of dollars or more to fix, then you should persue an attorney.

There is a base near me, and they offer legal services to VEts provided that they meet the critiera.
