Service treatment records

Question

Will the va deny my claim because i have no service treatment records? I wasnt treated inservice for my schizophrenia and ptsd.  The treatment didnt come until after service and i already sent them those records.

As always you need documentation of these 3 things for service connection:

1.  Current diagnosis.  

2.  In service event or aggravation.  If you are claiming PTSD this means you need documentation of a "stressor".  Yes, a buddy from training could write a letter saying that he saw you

_____________________________ in service.   Your mother was unlikely to see this event.  However, she could testify that, after service you were "changed", but you will still need documentation of an event in service.  If you apply, the VA "may" be able to obtain your records,

3.  Nexus, or doctors opinion that number 1 and number 2, above, are related.
