I have a disability claim pending and received a notice for a C&P exam. I received the notice 5 days after having majory surgery which prohibits me from driving for five months. I called the contracted doctor's office, which is more than 1 1/2 hours away from my home, and informed them of the situation. They told me to just call back and re-schedule when I can drive. Should I be concerned that my claim will be thrown out? I do not have anyone to drive me to their location and an Uber would cost a fortune.

DAV and a few other places frequently transport Vets.  Contact them.

I'd contact the C&P Chief and request a reschedule  due to your medical problem(Detail the surgery and date of surgery) and  you can't travel at this time. (date of C&P)

call the VA not the contractor.
