New to VA Disability

I started my original claim last year in July. I finally got approved for Major Depressive Disorder and got my approval rating of 50%. My claimed closed on March 30 and now I am waiting on back pay. I was wondering how long it usually takes after getting the approval until I get my back pay. I got my percentage off of the ebenefits website. Have not receive my approval package yet.

Could take a few weeks, or longer depending on the amount and how many signatures it needs. I've gotten as much as 4000-5000 at one time within a few weeks of my decision.

Mine took exactly one week from the time I saw my rating in ebenefits 5500

Congrats! Just keep in mind that if your depression worsens over the next year or more; you can request an increase. But, worsened symptoms have to be well- documented by your VA mental health dr. or by a private mental health dr.
