RAMP denied, va.gov states service connection granted

DocOtto

Question

I appealed a denial for service connection for two issues last year, received a RAMP opt-in form and signed up. The RAMP appeal was opened and closed three different times and was ultimately pushed through, ending in a closed status on va.gov on March 14. Only after calling Peggy twice and hearing the gentleman at the call center physically print it out, did I actually receive the letter on April 11. Verdict: denied service connection. The screwy thing is that the original appeal remained open on va.gov until March 11. It was then updated as closed with “Service Connection Granted”, and stated that if I was going to receive a rating increase, I would see it in one to two months.

Anyone had this happen or know what to expect? Peggy has no answers...

I can’t help but remain a little hopeful that I never received the original RAMP decision by mail because of the original appeal for some reason remaining open and subsequently being granted . That’s probably to good to be true though.

You just made a great case "not" to trust ebenefits/va.gov.  You did not to do that for me, however, as I already knew not to trust them.  As always, you just have to wait for the envelope, and pretty much ignore most of what ebenefits/vets.gov says.

No, I never heard of a service connected grant  without a rating  even at 0% and  the rating maybe recieved in one to two months?

something don't seem right here?

An interesting turn of events.  Wait for an envelope that will tell all.  Hopefully vets.gov is right in your case.

Usually from my experience anyway   I was first Service Connected  but denied a rating  but  Service connected at 0%

I appeal the 0% and ask for increase   you do this with favorable medical documentation..unless you have submitted medical documents showing your condition has indeed got worse   they will probably keep you at 0%..if they do Appeal.
