This veteran won a CML AO claim at the BVA:

https://www.va.gov/vetapp15/Files2/1510466.txt

The veteran had done a lot of research as to the benzene factor and also had IMO/IMEs.

It is not on the presumptive list- but one web site said 43 glioblastoma claims have been won by vets or their survivors due to AO.Glioblastoma is not an AO presumptive.

These types of claims require strong independent medical opinions.

I agree with Berta and add "MOST" claims need strong IMO's, UNLESS you already have that evidence on file.  The nexus is often the bottle neck/screen where claims get thrown out without it.

No nexus/ Poor or inadequate nexus = fast track to denial.  It just takes a while.  LOL.

The BVA link states:

"On appeal from the
Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office in St. Paul, Minnesota

THE ISSUE

Entitlement to service connection for chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML).

REPRESENTATION

Appellant represented by:	Thomas K. Hagen, Attorney"

The veteran's IMO/IMEs came from a Dr N. L. ,oncologist. and Dr. D.M.K., a private oncologist.

They must have followed the IMO/IME criteria here or elsewhere bcause their opinions outweighed a VA opinion and another VHA opinion.

The two oncologists might well have been and still be in Minnesota.

Hagen would probably know-

I just googled his web site:

https://khmnlaw.com/southern-minnesota-lawyers/thomas-hagen/

The chat man could not answer my question and wanted email- their email addy is there somewhere and their phone number.

If you get  private oncology treatment, perhap that doctor could write an IMO/IME for you that would not be too costly- and they need to follow the IMO/IME criteria here at hadit.

Berta, evidently there are two attorneys named Thomas Hagen. I called the number on the website and was referred to a second Thomas Hagen @507-593-4098. Evidently he is a Veteran and specialist with VA disability cases. Left him a message. Hope he calls me back.
