The "time frame" on ebenefits is a logrithim (computer) and has not that much to do with reality.  Ignore it.

You did the right thing adding a claim you missed earlier.  You really dont know if it will delay your claim, but you do know that waiting to file will delay!!!

Get yourself a hobby and dont check ebenefits so often if it depresses you.

Think about, instead, all the retro you will get on the "added" claim, by not delaying filing it.

Remember, the Va can/does defer adjuticating issue 2 if issue 1 is ready to rate.

So, you did the right thing by filing.

Dont fret over the dates increasing..they change with the weather.

Just received this through IRIS in response to my concerns about filing a new claim while waiting on decisions currently pending:

"In general, if you submit a new claim it shouldn’t effect the timeliness of your existing claim/appeals, however, if you submit new medical evidence/information for an existing claim/appeal, it may effect the timeliness, as it will have to be reviewed."

@8th&IMarine

well that is a lie but of course they play CYA and say "in general" to let you think it is an unusual case that will be delayed. It isn't.

In Aug 2018 I filed a claim for several things. Then later that month filed a new claim. Within 2 days they "combined" the claims.

that later claim was a no brainer and even the Deaf dumb and blind rater should have processed and awarded in minutes. Instead they waited until they could "defer" one of the items and then awarded/denied the others. It took months to get that much and now in April 2019 they finally awarded the deferred claim.

Don't let IRIS convince you that you will get piecemeal awards. They can, but often they don't.
