Requesting C&P results

Rate this question

Question

So I just had my C&P exam for PTSD, and I was wondering do I have to request the results from the contractor (LHI) or the VA? I am curious on the timeframe because I requested my C-File back in January and it wont be finished until June 2019.

After your C&P yes ask about the report from the contractor and  they should have instructions on how to get it  when they send you the location and time date of your C&P but it don't hurt to ask the examiner how to get it fast .

I think you need to wait at least 2 weeks after the exam  because the examiner usually takes a week to write it up  and then sends it to the VA.

If you wait to get it when your C-FILE Comes in  it maybe to late...so you need to get this report ASAP.

 Also after about 2 weeks  you can stop by the VBA (Veterans Benefits Administration) and sign a FOIA and ask to see a VSO  and you go back to his/her office and ask them for a copy of your Last C&P Exam given on the date of the Exam.(they should be able to look into the computer using your SS #)

It don't hurt to request a copy from the contractor as well as the VBA  or the VA release of medical records  all after 2 weeks. When you have a Contracted out C&P Exam.

I had a QTC Forensic PTSD C&P a few years ago and I waited about 2 weeks and went to the VBA Office and ask to get a copy of my last C&P Exam  and I seen a VSO and he looked it up in the computer and run made a copy for me  free of charge.

Now I am not sure they still do it?  but the VBA is suppose to be there for Veterans.

doc25 you got miss informed.  someone at QTC didn't know what they was talking about.

''Wow, I'll have to keep this in mind. I tried to get c&p results back in 2017 from QTC after my c&p exam and I was told I had to request it from my RO that ordered the exam//.

I think I remember my instructions QTC sent me before the exam gave a FAX # to request the exam report after the C&P Was over about 2 weeks  then send in the request by Fax  and ask for a confirmation.

They may not do that now?  I''m not sure?

VA doctors office

@shrekthetank1

At the VA Doctors office, sure it is possible.

I am changing my PC because she is just awful. She is a Nurse Practitioner and has literally written in my notes that "she did not know I was asking for treatment" when I had specifically asked for treatment and it was documented right about her note. I am filing a complaint with the VA. She is a contractor working for a Contract VA provider away from the Hospital.

At Puget Sound when I have been there visiting specialists they made me go to the Information Office and that poor woman was physically surround by hills of paper for some reason but she did try to help.  She did not have access to Contractor Provided C&P exams though and said to file at the RO or get my C-File.

@doc25

this has been my experience in 2018 and 2019 from QTC and LHI. I am going to try it per @shrekthetank1's post to see what happens. I will have the FOIA to present them at the time of the exam just to see how that flies. It would be interesting and helpful if that works with outside contractors. The extra trip to the RO is a pain.

I finally received my C-file back in February 2019 and the C&P results for 2017 are inconsistent. The examiner marked that my flat feet were "at least as likely as not" due to military service, but in the rationale the examiner agrees with the previous C&P from 2007.
