C/P exam this ever happen to you

Question

I have a claim in for  Chronic Laryngitis & Dysphasia yesterday I had a C/P exam at the Temple VA ...

On Mar 7, I had seen a specialist at the VA who diagnosed my condition and  stated that my Laryngitis and Dysphasia was attributed to my inhaled steroids or Gerd or both... and that the steroids could not be stopped because of my service connected breathing issues.

So,  I was surprised to be notified to attend  a C/P  anyway .. the examiner... ( another foreign born doctor from India)  did the examination, and it was really as waste of time.. he asked me a few questions,  and said he had reviewed the records.. he looked at my throat for about 3 seconds.. and then he listed to my lungs and heart, and he checked for swelling in my lower legs..

This exam  didn't make much sense to me because it was for my throat and nothing to do with my legs, heart or breathing ( except that the steroids are for my lungs)

I asked him his opinion as to weather the steroids caused my problem he said possible and  left it there...

He could tell from my raspy and whispering voice as well as some words not coming out when I talk that I did have the condition.. but the exam was really weird because he did not scope me to see the condition of my voice box, like the ENT specialist did back in Mar.....

Anyone else have a C/P exam that  did not actually address the medical condition..

I have never had such a weird exam that is why I am asking...

What I would do is write up exactly like you disclosed here but with even more detail and set it aside. You said he answered that the VA prescribed steroids possibly caused your condition Wait and see; it should be posted in a couple days. If it supports and he says as much, great. If he is negative, contact the RO and complain about the lack of thoroughness and request a new C&P. Confirm it in writing and save a copy. If you get another, competent exam, you should be good to go. If you are denied a second exam, the worse case is you can submit as evidence on appeal to BVA if you have to. If it gets to that level, my appeal should include an IMO or dbq that supports your condition if you don't already have one.
