Interpreting My Recent claims decision

Rate this question

Cam Rahn Gunner

Question

I just got my decision on my claim.  I'm aware of how bizarre the VA adds up the percentages and how difficult it is, at this stage of reading the decision letter for ME to understand it all.  I have been granted 70%, 30%, 20%, 10% and 10% respectively for items of my claim filed early last year.  My monthly compensation reflects 100% from now on and they say I'm Unemployable but nowhere in the packet I got in the mail today states what my overall and firm % is.  HELP!!! 🙂

With no information about if you have bilaterals I get 87%. Usually the individual ratings and the combined is on the last page. Ebenefits will let you print a letter in a different format that has your rating also.

If they say you are unemployable it sounds like you were deemed TDIU and paid at 100% despite not being 100%.

You have a few choices.  Pick the ones that make sense to you, or none of these:

1.  Take your VARO decision to your VSO and ask him.

2.  Post the decision, redacting your name and address.

3.  Dont worry about it; you are at tdiu which is 100 percent.

Of these, I like number 2, above, the best.  Number one is ok, as long as you dont take any "negative" advice your VSO may give.

Number 3 may not be all that bad if you are satisfied with the effective date.
