Question
Donna Mooney
My husband is 100% disabled and my son, who is currently 17, is starting his first year in college. He submitted his DEA paperwork at the beginning of August. Our son turns 18 in September, so we also need to fill out the form for a dependent enrolled in school. One of the questions on form 21-674 is, "Is tuition and/or allowance for student's education or training being paid by VA Dependents Educational Assistance (DEA)…" We applied for DEA but he has not started receiving benefits, so we don't know how to answer this question. Do we say "yes" assuming he will receive DEA funds or "no" because as of today he has yet to receive them?
