@SwiftSig Congratulations. The P stands for permanent and it means no future exams, however if you file a new claim or for an increase in one of your ratings that will open you up to a new exam. Depending on your disability you may open another claim at some point if you think you are entitled to special monthly compensation. T just means total or 100%.

Claimants should not confuse a "Permanent and Total" ("P&T") rating with a "protected" rating. A P&T rating is not a protected rating. What VA means by "permanent" is that the condition is assumed to be unceasing in nature and not likely to improve. "Total" means that the maximum rating has been assigned. As a result, VA will not schedule a P&T claimant for the routine medical examinations required of other claimants. However, if VA becomes aware of medical improvement, a P&T claim can be reduced just like any other claim. Claimants with a P&T condition should keep this in mind when considering whether to file additional claims because the resulting C&P exam could provide VA a basis to reduce the P&T claim. This could result in a lower total rating, even if the new claim is granted. https://helpdesk.vetsfirst.org/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=1869

Sig, Congrats! Hope you are reading that from your decision letter; if not, wait till you get it. If the letter lists Chapter 35/DEA/Champ that means you are entitled to major ed bennies for your wife and dependents, Champ is a good insurance  for your dependents, and if your are 100% P&T for 10 years, your wife can receive DIC which is a pension after you pass. Those are the major items you can get. You also may be automatically reviewed for SMC disability payments as well.
